RTLS
(Real Time Location System)
Knowing the whereabouts of a speaker before his/her talk, or a mentally handicapped patient lost in a hospital, or of a defibrillator in the case of a cardiac arrest, may be crucial.
Tulecom has developed a Real Time Location System (RTLS) that locates and monitors people, assets, or resources with the use of cordless communication technologies.
Its basic operation consists of the following:
- Each person, resource, or piece of equipment to be located has an electronic label that transmits its location to a set of antennas.
- The antennas determine its position using calculation systems that take parameters from the signal received.
- Finally, this location is presented to the end user on computer screens or PDAs.
